At the Mansion House on Thursday, where the Lord Mayor of London is hosting a ‘Scale Up Showcase’ for 16 high-growth tech businesses “to champion our technology sector”. His view is “we have a thriving early stage funding marketplace that is enabling many entrepreneurs to get started. What we do not have though, is a sufficient number of organisations that grow into world beaters. This is something we need to address and to change”. 200 investors have been invited “in the light of recent moves to free up investment capital from pension schemes to support innovation”.
